Write for us

BreakNewsLine is building a newsroom around one idea: news that is fast, verified and shareable — and above all, trustworthy. We’re growing, and we welcome contributors who share that standard.

Whether you’re a reporter, a subject-matter writer, or someone sitting on a story that deserves daylight, we’d like to hear from you.

What we look for

  • Accuracy first. Every claim should be checkable. Bring the records, filings, or first-hand reporting behind your story — we list sources on the page.
  • A calm, plain voice. Closer to a wire service than a cable channel. No hype, no clickbait, no partisanship.
  • Original reporting or well-sourced analysis. Add something a reader can’t get from a press release — on-the-ground detail, documents, or genuine expertise. We have a particular appetite for India-focused reporting.

What to pitch

  • News tips — something happening that we should be looking into.
  • Freelance stories — reported pieces, with the sources you’d cite.
  • Analysis and columns — informed, balanced, anchored to the facts.

How to pitch

Email contact@onlinesh.org with:

  1. A subject line starting with Pitch: (or Tip: for a news tip).
  2. A few sentences on the story and why it matters now.
  3. Your sources or evidence — links, documents, or how we can verify.
  4. A line about you, and any relevant clips.

We read every pitch and reply if it’s a fit. Please don’t send finished exclusives before we’ve agreed to look — a short pitch is enough.

Our standards

Reporting is corroborated before it carries our Verified seal, contributors keep their byline, and we correct openly when we get something wrong. We don’t publish sponsored coverage or pay-to-play placements — if that’s what you’re after, this isn’t the place.

We’re a small team and growing. Salaried newsroom roles will be posted here as we expand — check back.
